Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is still struggling with a thigh problem a week before the World Cup. The Real Madrid forward has been recovering from a muscle problem for the past two weeks.
Ronaldo was rested for Portugal’s friendly match against Greece to speed up his recovery. The Portuguese FA, however, revealed that the player is trying to overcome his injury. He trained in a separate program together with Pepe, Raul Meireles, and Beto who are all also battling to recover fitness.
Fellow Seleccao player and ex-Manchester United teammate Nani refuted the claim. He said Ronaldo is doing well and fans should not worry about him.
“I don’t believe the situation with Ronaldo is worrying,” he said. “He’s going well, and he is relaxed about it … things are going the right way.”
“We hope that Cristiano is in good enough shape to play – and to help the team.”
